One day while searching through some books in a box located in his favorite used bookstore, Michael Pereira discovers an old diary from the sixteenth century. The diary has a name and email address in it and Michale makes contact with Maria from Brazil. From there a romantic adventure starts and Maria's strange and wonderful relationship with an ex-priest seems to be mysteriously related to the silver-haired woman that brought the diary back from Brazil in the first place. The only thread that appears to tie all the pieces of the story together is the tale told in the old diary which seems to have as much relevance to the present as it does to the past. As Michael finds himself increasingly absorbed in the emails he receives from Maria, the silver-haired lady shows up with occult powers and hidden intentions. Michael is soon trapped between his growing fondness for his new friend from Brazil and a host of strange occurrences that terrify him.
